Buyer Disclosures

In compliance with California law (AB 506, effective January 1, 2026), we provide the following disclosures to all prospective buyers.

Original Source & Origin

All kittens sold by Oronovo Maine Coons are bred by us. We are the original source. All kittens are born and raised in our home cattery in California. No USDA license is required or held, as we are a small hobby cattery selling directly to pet families.

Health & Medical History

At or before the time of sale, each buyer receives a complete written record of their kitten's health history, including:

  • Vaccination dates and types (FVRCP series, Rabies per AAFP schedule)
  • Deworming treatments with dates and medications
  • Veterinary examination results and health certificate
  • Genetic testing status of parents (HCM, SMA, PKDef, Factor XI)
  • FIV/FeLV screening results of parents
  • Microchip number and registration
  • Spay/neuter confirmation

If any health information is unavailable at the time of sale, we will state that explicitly and provide all related information known to us.

Health Guarantee

All Oronovo kittens are sold with a 2-year genetic health guarantee against life-threatening heritable conditions (HCM, SMA, PKDef). We recommend a veterinary examination within 72 hours of go-home to confirm your kitten's health on arrival. Full guarantee terms are detailed in the adoption contract.

Adoption Contract

Every kitten placement includes a written adoption contract covering: health guarantee terms, spay/neuter confirmation, deposit and payment terms, return policy, and our mutual responsibilities. The contract includes all disclosures required under California AB 506. A copy of the contract is provided for review before any deposit is accepted.

Deposits

A $500 deposit secures a waitlist spot or reserves a specific kitten. Deposits are transferable to a future litter. Full deposit terms, including refund conditions, are detailed in the adoption contract and comply with California law.

Registration

All Oronovo kittens are registered with TICA (The International Cat Association). A TICA registration slip is provided to each buyer for individual kitten registration. The Oronovo cattery is registered with both TICA (#109645) and CFA (The Cat Fanciers' Association, #324079). Our breeding cats carry verified Italian pedigrees through ANFI/FIFe and AGI/WCF.

These disclosures are provided pursuant to California Assembly Bill 506 (2025), effective January 1, 2026, which requires sellers of dogs, cats, and rabbits to disclose origin, source, and health information to buyers located in California.
